Disc-free Jockeying

“I can’t tell if that guy’s DJing or working on a term paper,” overheard at a bar where Disc Jockeys don’t jockey discs.

I think we need to come up with a new term for people who DJ with laptops. Since there aren’t actually “discs” involved with playing your iTunes at the bar, here are the two I suggest:

  1. eJing,” as in electronic Jockeying. For example, “Hey guys, you should come to my eJ night because I just upgraded my Spotify account.”
  2. KeyJaying,” as in pressing keys to make the songs play. For example, “Dudes, check out my mad typing skills and listen to the tunes at my Key-J night.” Nothing says ROCK quite like demonstrating your secretarial proficiencies, am I right?
